The Place that is Able to Meet my Need, H.C.

Growing up, my dad was atheist until I was in the last year of my high school. My mom, a Christian, was a housewife in charge of raising up four kids. I still remember how she taught me to pray to the Lord. It was such a simple prayer out of my mouth, yet I will never forget that it became my belief towards God afterwards. I just thank God for granting me such a faithful mom towards Him, regardless of the situations she passed through in her life.

For the first two years in college, I was meeting with believers in Azusa, California. My Christian life was empty and unsatisfying. I felt indifferent to people who do not believe in God. Is it just by going to church and restraining myself to be a good person that will save me from eternal perdition? I did not know how to be a Christian until I began meeting with the local church in Fullerton. The more I met with them, the more I could sense that God is awesome. I can sense real life in their meetings. Every time I gathered with them, my inner being was really washed by their singing, sharing, and genuine love in Christ. Gradually, I was attracted more to come to these meetings. I remember that the Lord spoke to me about the local church: “That's it, this is the church that is able to meet your need.” I just thank Him that He loves and cares for me. His love is knowledge-surpassing, yet I can know it by exercising my spirit every moment.

As I started meeting with the local church in Fullerton, I was attracted to read many books of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. The first book I read was The Economy of God by Witness Lee. This book totally changed the direction of my life to seek a wonderful and glorious life of knowing Christ. This book showed me that our God has an economy and that only in His economy is there the answer of the meaning of human life. The second book I read was An Overcoming Life by Watchman Nee. This book opened my eyes to realize that as a Christian, I need to pursue Christ as my daily overcoming life and my goal. As the apostle Paul wrote in his epistle to the Philippians, he was willing to forget everything behind, and take Christ as his only goal (Philippians 3:8). 1Timothy 2:4 says, “Our God also desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth.” This truth is just Christ.

After I read these books, I am more attracted to read many more books. The more I read their books, the more I am brought into sweet fellowship with God. Therefore, I can testify that the church and the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee are awesome. Therefore, after I graduate from the university, I plan to join the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). Not only will I be trained to know the truth in the Bible, but I will have the opportunity to apply the truth in practice so that I may be useful for His economy in this age.

Our God is an active God. I believe that God has chosen me to help carry out His economy in this age. Praise Him that He is the source, the supply and the goal in my Christian life!
